MY HYPNOTHERAPY BACKGROUND AND APPROACH
I hold hypnotherapy sessions at my therapy room in Ealing and via Skype – weekend and evening appointments are available. Please contact me here to arrange a suitable time.
There are a vast number of approaches to Hypnotherapy but ever since the start of my training in the field I have intentionally focussed on purely evidence-based practice. In others words this means I do not practice any disciplines that do not provide satisfactory evidence for their efficacy.
I practice Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) which integrates hypnosis with cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBH). The methods I use are long-established, peer-reviewed interventions and are aligned with the evidence of that detailed by, among others, the British Psychological Society, the British Medical Association and the American Medical Association.
I have a Diploma in Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapy (DipCBH), accredited by the National Council for Hypnotherapy, the General Hypnotherapy Register, the Register for Evidence-Based Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and endorsed by the British Psychological Society.
Hypnotherapy and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy are each proven effective psychotherapeutic approaches in their own right. Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapy has been shown to be an even more effective and long-lasting approach than either individual method.
I am also a certified Performing Edge Coaching Professional (PECP). I was trained by Master Performing Edge and sports psychology expert, Dr JoAnn Dahlkoetter and use my knowledge of sports psychology to help my clients perform their best in every day life as I feel sport provides the ultimate test of our abilities in extreme pressure situations. I work with athletes to help improve their focus, confidence, motivation, communication skills, productivity, teamwork and overall performance to help them consistently achieve their potential and maximize performance.
Prior to studying in the fields of Hypnotherapy and Sports Psychology I worked for twelve years at a leading international Airline and eight years at a FTSE 100 Pharmaceutical company at a variety of different management levels so I am well versed in the stresses of corporate life and learnt a number of different strategies for coping in a highly pressured environment.
